Ara S. Karamian joined Yukevich | Cavanaugh in 2019, and litigates a broad range of product liability, premises liability, habitability, and general negligence cases.
Prior to joining Yukevich | Cavanaugh, Mr. Karamian worked in labor law and employee benefits law, representing multiemployer benefit trust funds in Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) collections lawsuits before federal district courts and bankruptcy courts. In addition to his ERISA work, Mr. Karamian has represented clients before the Office of Administrative Hearings and other California administrative agencies. Additionally, Mr. Karamian has practiced consumer class action litigation, through which he has litigated multiple major lawsuits involving alleged automobile defects, as well as lawsuits involving other major products and corporations.
Mr. Karamian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he worked as a legal assistant for a small employment litigation firm in Los Angeles as he applied to law schools.
Mr. Karamian earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis, School of Law where he also served as Managing Editor of the UC Davis Environs Journal of Environmental Law and Policy, and as an Editor for the UC Davis Business Law Journal.
During his 2L year, Mr. Karamian externed with the California Energy Commission, where he worked on legal matters relating to various energy infrastructure projects throughout California, and also served as a law clerk at a land use law firm in Sacramento, where he helped developers secure permits and approval for major projects in the Sacramento metropolitan area.
Upon graduating from UC Davis, Mr. Karamian earned the UC Davis Environmental Law Certificate, Public Service Law Program Certificate, and Pro Bono Program Certificate.
In his off time, Mr. Karamian can be found trying to organize his extensive collection of vinyl records, or outdoors hiking, camping, and climbing. He roots for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Rams, and Vancouver Canucks.
