Thomas Borncamp has been lead and co-lead trial counsel in numerous products liability, commercial and other complex cases. Mr. Borncamp has tried cases involving football helmets, sporting goods and tires, as well as cases arising from motorcycle, automobile, bus, aviation and commercial truck accidents. He has also represented corporations and manufacturers in litigation across the country involving commercial disputes, class actions, consumer fraud and protection, catastrophic accidents, sporting goods, fitness products, TCPA, and toxic tort claims.

Mr. Borncamp has been recognized by Law & Politics as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star in the field of civil litigation. His last four defense verdicts, including two for football and bicycle helmet manufacturers and one for a commercial trucking company, have been recognized by the Daily Journal as Top Verdicts after plaintiffs sought a combined $128 million from the corporate defendants. Mr. Borncamp previously won the Litigator of the Year Award and awards for outstanding trial results as lead counsel from the Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club. His defense verdicts and motion victories have been recognized in Verdict magazine by the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel including a recent summary judgment on a $99 million failure to warn/products liability case.

Mr. Borncamp has successfully defended Fortune 500 companies and manufacturers in complex, high-exposure litigation around the country including rail, aviation, vehicle, tire, sporting goods, safety equipment, helmets, fire protection and respiratory protection and other manufacturers, as well as trucking companies, hotel chains, and other entities. He has not only defended helmet and protective mask manufacturers in concussion and catastrophic brain injury litigation, he has been a speaker on the topic for the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and the Association of Corporate Counsel. He also defended hotel and apartment complexes in premises liability and other negligence cases, defended and advised companies in Proposition 65 matters, and represented clients in commercial disputes. Mr. Borncamp has also been a presenter on trial practice, discovery, document retention policies and witness preparation for numerous corporate clients. His practice also involves managing national and regional litigation and providing specialized guidance regarding discovery to U.S. and foreign corporate defendants.

He is a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and been a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the Defense Research Institute, National Fire Protection Association, and the Legal Task Force for the Sports & Fitness Industry Association.

Mr. Borncamp graduated with high honors from the University of California, Davis in 1992 with a BA in history and political science. He received his JD from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in 1996, and was admitted to practice in California that same year. He joined Yukevich | Cavanaugh in April of 2000.
