The firm is pleased to announce that James (Jim) Yukevich has been selected by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal as one of California’s “Top 100 Lawyers” list for 2026. This honor comes for the second time in the last three years.
Jim was recognized in this prestigious list for his successful representation of clients including Avalon Bay Communities, Inc. and Michelin North America, Inc. in product liability cases resulting from tragic accidents.
Jim explained to the Daily Journal that the key defense for cases of this nature relies on ensuring that a jury understands “the distinction between a tragic accident and a defect in the product.”“We had to make sure the emotional impact of the event did not overshadow the legal and scientific evidence,” he says of the $99.7 million Ramon Tinoco Lopez v. Michelin North America Inc. lawsuit.
Jim’s profile in the special issue also notes that he was recently retained to help defend S&S Worldwide in litigation over the X2 roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Southern California, is currently serving as lead trial counsel in Ford Motor Company toxic tort cases handled by Yukevich | Cavanaugh, and is preparing for a Michelin North America trial set for February 2027.
