Tara Murphy is an associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office, where her practice areas encompass product liability defense, general negligence, business and commercial litigation, complex litigation, and personal injury matters.
Ms. Murphy earned her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in 2024, concentrating on the negotiation track and building a foundation in business, real estate, entertainment, and contract law through both rigorous coursework and employment. Tara joined Yukevich | Cavanaugh as a law clerk in 2024 before advancing to an associate attorney role in 2025.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2019, earning recognition on the Dean’s Honor Roll. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Murphy volunteered over 300 hours at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse’s JusticeCorps Self-Help Center, focusing on child custody and visitation issues. Additionally, she gained valuable early legal experience working in mediation clinics and as a legal temp through the Beverly Hills Bar Association, where she collaborated with multiple firms throughout Los Angeles, cultivating a broad understanding of diverse legal disciplines.
Ms. Murphy’s keen interest in high-performance and luxury sports vehicles, including exotic and specialty automobiles, has naturally informed her passion for product liability law. Her professional journey reflects a steadfast commitment to client advocacy and strategic problem-solving.
Fluent in conversational Farsi, she holds active memberships with the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Pasadena Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Outside of work, Ms. Murphy enjoys weightlifting, exploring new restaurants, traveling, attending legal and professional networking events, and spending quality time with her family and her dog.
