Mr. Doupé’s experience includes formulating trial and appellate strategy, drafting legal briefs, preparing dispositive motions, and developing pre-trial and post-judgment discovery. Mr. Doupé has appeared before courts throughout the state, including the California Court of Appeal.
In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Doupé has also advised high net worth individuals in asset acquisitions, financings, restructurings, and dispositions. To that end, for high net worth and investor clients, Mr. Doupé has prepared partnership agreements, operating agreements, promissory notes, security agreements, and boat mortgages.
Before joining Yukevich | Cavanaugh, Mr. Doupé was a litigation associate at DLA Piper LLP (US) and a boutique law firm where he represented clients in several areas of commercial and real estate litigation. Mr. Doupé litigated business tort cases, lender liability disputes, environmental cases, foreclosures, receiverships, wrongful death cases, contract disputes, and lease disputes. Mr. Doupé also served as an extern to the Honorable Terry J. Hatter, Jr., of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Mr. Doupé received his JD cum laude from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and his BA magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rhodes College. During law school, he served as lead articles editor for the SMU Law Review and chairman of the Board of Advocates. Mr. Doupé also participated actively in national moot court competitions, earning best oral advocate honors at the Pepperdine National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition and placing as a finalist at the Moot Court National Championship.
