Eric M. Sowatsky is an experienced attorney, having represented large corporations, public entities, and public utilities in matters throughout California, from inception through trial, involving complex tort and contract claims, including high-exposure wrongful death, personal injury, products liability, and premises liability actions.

Prior to joining Yukevich | Cavanaugh, Mr. Sowatsky worked as in-house complex litigation counsel at a large insurance company where he specialized in law and motion practice and secured summary judgment and other significant victories for his clients on a regular basis. While he is most comfortable in the courtroom, Mr. Sowatsky also has significant experience formulating litigation strategies, taking and defending depositions, and drafting all manner of pleadings, motions, and other documents in preparation for trial.

Before practicing as an advocate, Mr. Sowatsky worked at the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, where he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul Turner, Presiding Justice of Division 5, and also as a summer extern for the Honorable Tricia A. Bigelow, Presiding Justice of Division 8.  In the justices’ chambers Mr. Sowatsky worked on hundreds of cases and opinions, involving all areas of California law, including appellate review of numerous trial court rulings on Motions for Summary Judgment and Motions to Compel Arbitration.
