Mr. Elrakabawy graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in finance in 2002. He earned his JD, with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law, in 2005. Mr. Elrakabawy served as a judicial intern for Chief Justice Wallace B. Jefferson of the Texas Supreme Court, preparing study memorandum analyzing petitions for review of civil appeals. After law school, Hassan served as a clerk for the Honorable Terry Jennings of the Court of Appeals for the First District of Texas, formulating draft opinions in civil and criminal cases. After his clerkship, Mr. Elrakabawy began his practice at a top global law firm in California.
Mr. Elrakabawy has been an active litigator since 2006. His practice has focused on complex commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, business torts, negligence, and intellectual property. He has won complete defense verdicts at trial and on dispositive motion, and obtained favorable decisions on appeal in state and federal courts. He has significant experience in the day-to-day management of federal and state court litigation, including leading and development of litigation strategy, taking and defending depositions, working with experts, preparing substantive motions, negotiating settlement, and managing the scope of document and information collection.
Mr. Elrakabawy is licensed to practice in California and Texas; before the Central, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California, and the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
