Hassan Elrakabawy is an experienced civil litigator and trial attorney. He has represented clients in a wide range of matters involving complex legal issues.
Mr. Elrakabawy graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance in 2002. He earned his Juris Doctor (with honors) from the University of Texas School of Law in 2005. Mr. Elrakabawy served as a judicial intern for Chief Justice Wallace B. Jefferson of the Texas Supreme Court, preparing study memorandum analyzing petitions for review of civil appeals. After law school, Mr. Elrakabawy served as a clerk for the Honorable Terry Jennings of the Court of Appeals for the First District of Texas, formulating draft opinions in civil and criminal cases. After his clerkship, Mr. Elrakabawy began his practice at a top global law firm in California.
Mr. Elrakabawy has been an active litigator since 2006. His practice has focused on complex commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, business torts, negligence, and intellectual property. He has won defense verdicts at trial and on dispositive motion, and obtained favorable decisions on appeal in state and federal courts. He has significant experience in the day-to-day management of federal and state court litigation, including leading and developing litigation strategy, taking and defending depositions, working with experts, preparing substantive motions, negotiating settlements, and managing the scope of document and information collection.
Mr. Elrakabawy is licensed to practice in California and Texas, before the Central, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California, and the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
